Projects and Painting ..oh my

I know I have said it before but.....I Love Pinterest!!!!!!

Ideas just swirl around in my head constantly...I am loving the time I have to do some projects and plan new ones.

Plus we have gotten some painting done and accomplished a few little projects.

The first Pinterest project was to make coasters using 4 x 4 white tiles, scrap book paper, modge podge and    glossy spray lacquer.

I made the modge podge. 1/2 parts elmers glue and water.
Clean tiles and cover with a layer of modge podge. Place cut squares of paper. then cover with a few more coats of modge podge every few minutes.

Let dry completely 24 hours before applying lacquer and follow directions on the can. Do a couple coats then let dry.

My sister in law and I made about 100 different ones and we are going to bundle them and give out at Christmas to family and teacher gifts.

Here is the link for this great idea...

Next we painted Hannah's room. # walls light pink and one hot pink.  She loves it!!  We surprised her and she cried.  It was so cute!!

I have so many awesome plans for her room and she is going to love everything she opens at Christmas.  I cannot wait to start working on this one...

We also painted out bedroom and Barry hung my TV!!  It makes for so much more room.
I also have a projects in mind and in the works.... a Pinterest inspired headboard and these things made into something special..

Pictures to come upon completion!!

Happy Pinning and then doing!!

Ben....

Ben oh Ben oh Ben....So Trace my little animal whisperer was jumping on the trampoline a few weeks ago and a baby squirrel about 7 weeks old just crawled into his arms...

Oh brother...

I went on line trying to figure out what to do with it...what to feed it..and when would it possible to let him go.

So I learned we would have to feed it until it was weaned at about 12 weeks old and then it would be ready to go.  It didn't tell me that when it was hungry it would squeak and wake the dead!!  He sure is cute though and we have had fun, but I can't wait until this weekend when we can let him go.  He is ready and we wish him well in his life!!

His own personal tree...
Milk Moustache
What an experience.  We learned that Ben liked to hold his bottle, their feet and toes are extremely strong, they are funny and he would follow us around the yard like a dog.  He is cute but again it is time for him to be free!!

Trace will be sad but he knows its time.  I am sure he will whisper something else for us take care of!!  I love that boy...he is my shining star along with his sister!!

I think for Christmas he definitely needs something like a lizard or something he can keep and take care of.

Happy Weekend!!

Where oh where has my time went to...

The last few months have been up and down in this girls life for sure.  Not many people know but in the beginning of September my yearly contract with UF was not renewed so I am currently unemployed.  What a blow.  I can say that I was very upset and I felt lost.  One thing I am grateful for is they paid me through December so that helped tremendously.

The first few weeks were kind of rough adjusting, but I have since gotten into the swing of things and I am loving being home with the kids in the afternoons, getting homework done early, cooking dinner and relaxing.  I have always worked 1 or 2 jobs and I never quite realized how rushed our evenings have always been when we don't get in the door until 6.

However, I am no less busy.  My days start when I get the kids off to school.  Then sometimes its cleaning, projects, taking care of our animals and sometimes its reading, computer time, shopping or mommy time!!

A few weeks back my friend Cassie and I went to Cody's for lunch...I love their chicken wings and onion rings..

We have made a few different things lately.  The kids, and I made pizza and I made a spinach artichoke dip for game day Saturday.
I am not sure if I mentioned but game day Saturdays are sacred in this house.  Lots of finger food...wings, homemade mozarella sticks, tex mex dip, cream cheese wontons and whatever else my family requests.  I love cooking for them!!

Everyone had fallen back into a great pattern.  Our weekends are our favorite time.  They cleaned out and weeded the fish pond the other day.

Trace of course spends his time collecting wild animals and then I end up taking care of them...like...

FROGS!!  Thankfully after a few weeks he let them go.

Hannah went to Cheerleading camp the other weekend and this Friday she gets to cheer at the varsity game and she is so excited!!  I am going to work on her hair bows today.

We went to AJ's  JV football game last week and Hannah caught a shirt the Cheerleaders throw out.  She was so excited!!  It is a smidge to big though.. :)

Both Trace and Hannah are playing flag football this year.  We thought when they had signups for flag later they would offer Cheerleading but they didn't so they are both playing.  Its cute watching Hannah hike the ball!!  I just love the pictures.  I am working on her hair bows for that too today.  I figured she might be playing a boy sport but she can still rock it with ribbons and bows!!

Go Dolphins!!

I am all over with this post but I am totally loving instagram....I love how it changes my pictures

I can't get enough of them!!

That's it for now....
